Information about the Bone Wreck

The Bone Wreck or USS Bone is a high broken wreck. The wreck is in about 75 feet of water. It is a steel vessel with heavy coral growth. It sits about 11 miles southeast of Chincoteague Inlet. The wreck is sometimes visited by divers, commercial fishermen and recreational anglers. It is best known for sea bass but can hold triggerfish, bluefish, sharks, king mackerel, skipjack tuna and dolphin at times. Divers also find a few lobsters there.
