The Downtown Park in Chincoteague Virginia

The downtown park in Chincoteague Island is popular with tourists and hosts a variety of local events. The park also has a floating dock that is suitable for launching kayaks or other paddlecraft. Anglers sometimes visit the park to fish for striped bass, bluefish, flounder, and other predatory fish.  During the early morning or late evening, boat traffic is less intense and fish sometimes show up to feed on the abundance of baitfish in the nearby channel.
