The Wreck on the Parking LotInformation about the Big Steel Barge and the area known as the Parking LotThe big steel barge is a very high profile wreck. The wreck is intact in about 90 feet of water. It sits on a hill just inside the 20 fathom line about 25 miles east of Chincoteague Inlet. The wreck is heavily visited by divers, commercial fishermen and recreational anglers. It is best known for bluefin chunking but also holds sea bass, triggerfish, bluefish, sharks, king mackerel and dolphin at times.
