Buckroe Beach Fishing Pier
The Buckroe Beach Fishing Pier is famous for its excellent fishing for cobia, croakers, spot, and other saltwater fish. The 706-foot pier is located at 330 S. Resort Boulevard, near Point Comfort Road. The pier is open 24/7 during peak fishing season. At night, lights on the pier attract baitfish, which in turn, draw in gamefish.
During Hurricane Isabel in 2003, the original fishing pier was destroyed. The pier was rebuilt by the city of Hampton and re-opened in 2009. The 16 foot wide handicapped accessible pier features concrete pilings, wooden decks and railings, restrooms, a snack bar and bait shop. The T section at the end of the pier is 70 feet wide and 26 feet long. Nearby are parking areas, fish-cleaning stations, and shelters in case of severe weather.
