Choptank River Fishing Pier
29761 Bolingbroke Point Drive
Trappe, MD 21673
The Choptank River Fishing Pier is open 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. The pier is lighted for night fishing and
the Dorchester County side of the pier is open and lighted year round.
The twin spans are popular due to the
variety of fish that can be caught including perch, striped bass,
croakers (hard
heads), sea trout, and catfish. Fishing bait is available at local
tackle shops. Bloodworms, grass shrimp, peeler crab or soft crab baits
are preferred. The pier is also known as an excellent crabbing spot. Check with
Maryland Department of Natural Resources or local tackle shops for fishing
and crabbing regulations.
In addition to fishing and crabbing, recreation on the pier includes bicycling, walking, jogging, picnicking or sunbathing.
