The wild turkey is one of the most popular North American gamebirds. Wild turkeys are found throughout the Mid Atlantic region.

Wild turkey populations tend to fluctuate with the availability of food, especially acorns, nuts, and other forage. Wild turkeys prefer habitats that provide mast producing hardwoods, brush, grasses, and drinking water.

Each year, hunters dedicate countless hours to turkey hunting. In addition to actual time spent in the field, hunters refine their techniques, prepare hunting sites, work with equipment, and participate in other activities.
