Saint Mary’s Lake in Southern Maryland is a good destination for enjoying freshwater fishing, kayaking, and wildlife watching. The 250 acre lake is located in St. Mary’s River State Park, along Route 5, between Leonardtown and Great Mills.

Although the uses of gasoline powered engines is prohibited on the lake, electric motors are allowed. The lake is well suited for kayaks, canoes, and other small boats. A 7.5 mile trail around the lake provides anglers access from shore.

Saint Mary’s Lake contains largemouth bass, black crappie, bluegill sunfish, redear sunfish, chain pickerel, and other species.
