Memorial Park is a beautiful family oriented area on Chincoteague Island where visitors can enjoy crabbing and saltwater fishing. The park has tennis courts, basketball courts, playground equipment, fishing/crabbing pier, ball field, boat ramp, pavilion and restrooms.

Flounder, bluefish, striped bass, seatrout, white perch, sand perch, black sea bass, puffers, sharks, and eels are sometimes caught from the pier. The pier is on a hard turn and the creek bottom in front of the pier is deep and uneven. The pier and area around the boat ramp is an excellent spot for catching bait with cast nets.

A ramp is available for boaters (permit required). Power boaters and kayakers can launch and explore the area further. Before fishing or crabbing, check with local tackle shops or VMRC for regulations.
